Selecting products to advertise

We recommend leaving the product exclusion to the AI Mode for optimal ad performance.

How do I select my products for an ad campaign?

Instead of product selection, product exclusion method is followed. Select the products you don't want to advertise to and they will be excluded from the campaigns.

There are two types of Product Exclusion modes available to you - AI and Manual.

1. In the AI mode, all your products are analysed to select the best products for the users for the given daily budget and bids.

2. Under the Manual mode, you will be required to ‘exclude’ your products you don’t wish to advertise, either individually or in bulk through the ‘Product Selection’ settings in the Campaign section on the Dashboard.

How many products can I exclude from an ad campaign?

There is no limit to the number of products you can exclude from a campaign. However, only one product can be selected for one campaign, at a time. You can also edit the 'product exclusion' set during an ongoing campaign, based on the recommendations and analytics available on the dashboard.

Is there any limit on the price range of the products which can be selected for a campaign?

No, there is no limit on the price range of the products you select for your campaigns. You can select products from varying price ranges.

What if my product(s) goes out of stock in the middle of an ongoing campaign? Will I be charged for the clicks?

Once a product goes out of stock, it will stop showing as PLA on the Paytm Mall website/app and you will not be charged in such cases. Whenever you restock the product, it gets eligible for advertising. You can use the analytics tab to check the product performance and replenish the inventory to boost your sales.

Can I select products in bulk for a campaign?

Yes, you can select products in bulk. All you need to is follow the steps below:

• Go to the 'Product Selection' of your campaign.

• Please make sure the Product Selection Mode is 'Manual'.

• Click the 'Select Products' menu. There you can see the option 'Upload Product Selection'.

• Once you click on 'Upload Product Selection' there are three steps you need to follow. 1) Download the list of all the products. This file will show all your currently selected products for that campaign. 2) You can change or select the products you would like to advertise for that campaign. 3) Save the changes and upload the file again.

• Once the processing is done you will be notified. You can also check the status of the process -- this option is available under the 'Select Products' menu.
